Chemical Agents Database

Information That Matters

Sun Tzu quotation "If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles".

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Sun Tzu, The Art of War

Knowing your threats and risks, against which you need to be prepared and respond against, makes your tasks and operations a lot easier.

Particularly focusing in this case, you should be fully aware of your capabilities – such as chemical detection and classification – and your enemy’s – chemicals against which you’ll respond. This basic principle gives you “more space to operate” in case of an incident.  You can easily find lot of information about various chemicals in the various chemical databases available, and some dedicated applications, which is great, but overwhelming at the same time. Sometimes, too much is too much!

Efficient response procedures require only a solid basic understanding of the chemical agents, as well as some of their main characteristics.

Throughout 2020 I will share with you a compilation of information, a self-tailored Chemical Agent Database, I use as knowledge basis when conducting CBRN trainings myself.
